Pam Fierro

Pam Fierro held responsibilities with the Canutillo Independent School District (ISD) as director of curriculum and instruction. Drawing on nearly two decades of educational experience, she provided campus directors and administrators with focused support in implementing a Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills-derived curriculum. Pam Fierro also offered instructors and administrators professional development training designed to ensure the adoption of best teaching practices.

Prior to accepting her responsibilities with Canutillo ISD, Ms. Fierro served as assistant director of instruction and curriculum with the El Paso ISD’s Education Center at Boeing. She provided mathematics teachers and other campus leaders with assistance in the implementing district-wide math standards. She also held responsibilities with the Education Center as facilitator of mathematics and as middle school math teacher leader. Ms. Fierro guided dedicated writing teams in developing a standards-driven curriculum. She also helped set up a “coach model” that encouraged the development of math coaches within the context of professional learning communities, pedagogy, and data analysis. Pam Fierro holds an M.A. in educational administration from New Mexico State University.
