Panagiotis Moschandreou

Panagiotis Moschandreou was born in Athens. He got his first camera, a cheap Kodak Instamatic, at the age of ten refusing that day to get as a present a big brown PlayMobil pirate ship instead. That was the time he first wondered around capturing people's moments in film. Years later he studied to be an aircraft engineer. He always had his great passion, photography, as a hobby and way of expression. At some point he decided it was high time he did that for a living instead of fixing planes. So, he entered a Middlesex University of London's BA course, and started collaborating with major photo-agencies, newspapers and magazines. His volunteer work at the Action Aid International in London coined his decision to concentrate on concerned photography and become a photojournalist, focusing especially on people and on regions of the world in trouble.

He traveled on assignment to many places all over the globe, such as Albania, Serbia, Ukraine, Georgia, Turkey, Brazil, China, the North Pole etc covering news stories and major sport events.

His pictures have appeared in several international newspapers, weekly supplements and magazines such as The International Herald Tribune, The Guardian London, The Observer, Daily Telegraph, Stern, Epsilon Magazine, Kapa Magazine, Tachydromos Magazine, Big Fish Magazine, The Passport Magazine etc. He is a member of the Union of Press Photographers of Greece, the Greek Sports Journalists Association and the Association Internationale de la Presse Sportive.

Recently he joined UNHCR Greek Dept. in some of their missions with the aim to document on refugees' condition. Meanwile and in another field, he turned to be the Official Photographer of Euroleague Basketball in Greece, contributing for Getty Images.

In 2009 he had his first solo exhibition, "Les étrangers", under the honourable patronage of UNHCR, followed by two more solo and several participations in group exhibitions.

He lives and works in Athens, Greece, running his new founded studio, and producing images for clients in a variety of fields of Photography, always with a demanding aesthetical result.
