John Bischoff
Pastor in Racine, Wisconsin
Greetings, I am John Bischoff, on the left, pastor at United Lutheran Church in Racine.
After graduating from the Milwaukee School Of Engineering I spent 4 years as an electrical engineer. But from an early age I always knew, that some day, I would be a pastor; so I went to Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago where I earned my M-Div degree in 2006 and was ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
I married my high school sweetheart, Elisabeth, and together we have two wonderful boys, Ian and Micah.
In my spare time I enjoy bike riding with my family, reading, listening to music (vacuum tube equipment and vinyl records) and I love watching BBC comedies.
My passion is sharing the story of God's love for all of creation and there are two scripture verses that sum up my theological understanding.
Micah 6: “The Lord has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does theLordrequire of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
Matthew 22 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
