Hate unfairness and discrimination

Frustrated by other's peoples lack of action in their community. Getting involved and doing something that makes a difference to your own community is the most amazing feeling and wish I could encourage more people to get it. We are all busy people but we can all make time.

Active all my life in the community and felt that in this, my sixtieth year, it's time I stuck my head above the parapet and stood as a local councillor. After working as a community worker for the past four years and meeting some energetic and commited local councillors, had a go at joining them. Lost the election by 75 votes so a huge drop in majority for my opponent but a good effort on my part.
