A native son, Paul Brandley was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. From his earliest moments, he was in love with sports. His mother likes to joke, "Paul learned how to throw a baseball before he learned to throw a tantrum."

As he grew up, Paul found himself not having enough time for his sport hobby. He was playing baseball, basketball, and soccer in the Baltimore area six days per week, stopping only to complete his homework (the topic of which was, invariably, sports).

One legendary day, a young Paul Brandley attended a Baltimore Orioles game. As he was leaving the stadium, he saw a face that looked familiar. Sure enough, just like he looked in the photos, mythical Baltimore Oriole Frank Robinson was standing right there. It was very strange for Paul because Robinson wasn't wearing a jersey or a hat, but suddenly Frank Robinson flashed a smile and gave Paul a thumbs up. Not only was that the greatest day of Paul's life, but imbued him with the realization that while players assumed larger-than-life personas on the field, they were still normal people off of it. This would stick with Paul for years to come.

Eventually, Paul Brandley attended the University of Maryland so that he could pursue his dream of becoming a sportswriter while watching his beloved Maryland Terrapins. At one point, he got an exclusive interview with Wizards forward Juwan Howard, propelling him headfirst into a successful writing career.

With years of experience under his belt and like-minded friends, Paul Brandley started his official sports blog GetInTheGame, which examines the lives of professional athletes outside of their respective sports.

Paul graduated with a degree in Communications in 2007.
