Paul Stella

I'm from a small town outside Boston, Massachusetts called Medford.

I now live in Durham, NC with my wonderful wife, Peggy.

I've had some fun and challenging times working in Engineering, from Production to Environmental to Design, segueing into Architecture, and then into Industrial Design and Technical Illustration.

I reinvented myself into a Marketing Director back in 93, mostly because of my naturally gregarious nature (a quote from an old employer.)

After making a decision to leave the 9 to 5 world, I moved to Wilmington, NC - seeking solace and a nurturing environment for my two boys, I built a studio into my home there.

As an Artist, welding and fabricating took on a life of its own.

Raising the young men took precedence over my work - but that's another story.

They are now 20 and 23, and are a Student of Life, and Musician, respectively, and i am quite proud of the caring human beings they've grown to be.

My work is grounded by my life's experiences, as it should be. The pain, sorrow, joy and all of life's give-and-take reflects in the metal and stone i weld, fasten, polish, burnish and grind to convey these emotions.
