Pedro Mendez

I was born and raised in Santa Rosa de Copán, Honduras, in August 23, 1976. I lived there for eighteen years until I moved to San Pedro Sula to attend college and take over my position in a new job.

I am the first of four children born to Pedro Manuel Mendez and Maria M. Enamorado. I have two brothers and one sister. Both of my parents are still living. My father is a mechanic from a humble family in the West part of my country. My mother is a housewife, who dedicated her whole life to take care of us.

I worked in two different places doing a similar job. I first worked at the Banco de Occidente, S.A. for around six years. Then, I worked at the National Commission for Banks and Insurance, which is the entity than supervises national and private banks in the country.

Undoubtedly, my life style has been influenced by my father, who taught to work hard to achieve what I desired. The best image I have about God is my parent´s relationship. They have always made sacrifices for me and my siblings. Their life style is a good example for me.

God has been always true to me in everything I do. I can feel his presence everywhere, but He is not “the things themselves” I can truly recognize who He is and what He can do for me. God that is Holy, Perfect, Pure, Big, Indescribable, Simple and especially: the unlimited Love.

In my spiritual life, there are some important elements: the Holy Eucharist, the reading of Sacred Scripture, daily prayers, celebration of the sacraments, and a healthy devotion to the blessed Mother.

I have been serving the Church since I was young. The most important service in the Church is to find God´s Face in others, specially, in the needy. I have always been able to grow, because I can see others as God´s temples.

Actually I am a seminarian of Diocese of Tulsa. I am a privileged man for I have been called to be a human being according to God´s will and to give myself for the sake of others.
