Peter Schloss, is one of the pioneers of satellite television in Asia and award winning corporate lawyer and media executive in China. A founding member of the senior management team of Star TV, he specializes in traditional and new media investing, financing, legal/regulatory, corporate governance and intellectual property issues. In 2006 and 2007 he was named by Asia Law and Business as one of the top in-house lawyers in China and one of the top in-house lawyers in Asia. He was also named one of the ALB Hot 100 Lawyers in Asia in 2006.

Since 2012, Mr. Schloss has been a senior partner of the Phoenix TV Media Fund, a private equity fund focusing on investments in media and culture companies in China established by Phoenix TV (HKSE: 2008).

Mr. Schloss is an independent non-executive director and chairman of the Audit Committee of YY Inc. YY Inc. is revolutionary rich communication social platform based in Guangzhou, China that engages users in real-time online group activities through voice, text and video. It is listed on the Nasdaq Global Market and trades under the ticker symbol YY. He is also an independent non-executive director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of leading China online game company, Giant Interactive (NYSE: GA) and has been a director of the company since 2007. 

Mr. Schloss was previously an executive director and chief financial officer of TOM Online Inc. from  2003 and chief legal officer of TOM Online from 2005. TOM Online was listed on the NASDAQ and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange's GEM Board in 2004.

Mr. Schloss holds a B.A. in Political Science from Tulane University and a Juris Doctorate Degree from the Tulane University Law School.

He was a founder of the Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) in 1992 and has written extensively on the development of China's Copyright Law, especially as it pertains to software.

From 2006 to 2011 Mr. Schloss was a member of the Board of Trustees of the International School of Beijing.

Mr. Schloss plays banjo in Beijing's most popular Americana band, The Randy Abel Stable.

Mr. Schloss has lived and worked in Beijing and Hong Kong since 1985. He is based in Beijing.
