Philippe GUEGAN

What I do for a living: I help brands and businesses navigate uncharted social, mobile and digital waters. I picture what's coming next and I try to make it a reality. As writer William Gibson once said, "The future is already here – it's just not evenly distributed."

I try to make a difference in several ways: I successfully read the tea leaves of customer behavior, market dynamics and technology innovation. I identify white spaces for new products and new services. I think of new ways to solve complex business problems. I look at the big picture with an eye for detail. I turn those pesky insights into perky action. I tell stories that resonate with people, be they part of the 1% or the 99%.

I have been lucky enough to live and work in 5 countries across 3 continents, which taught me (sometimes the hard way) how to build bridges to narrow cultural and national gaps. And while it may not make much of a difference... I want to believe that nurture beats nature, and that correlation does not always mean causation.

One of my pet peeves for many years has been digital privacy. I am unsure what turn this debate will take next and how much the pendulum will swing back - I hope that when the dust settles, there is room left for more than meets the eye.

In case you wonder, the #glacier picture above was taken in Chilean Patagonia.
