Pursuing a fellowship in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of California, Davis’ UC Davis Medical Center, Dr. Philip Rosenthal commands nearly twenty-five years of professional experience. He began his postgraduate training with an internship at Washington University's Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, having recently graduated with a doctor of medicine from Cornell University Medical College in New York City. Identifying an interest in and aptitude for neurology, Dr. Philip Rosenthal then completed residency training through Washington University's and the State University of New York's Departments of Neurological Surgery. Subsequently, he fulfilled the obligations of a fellowship in neurosurgery under Dr. Joseph Maroon of Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Since that time, Dr. Philip Rosenthal has practiced in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and California. He maintains active board certification and stands out as a diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgery. Also actively involved in research, Dr. Rosenthal has distinguished himself as the author and coauthor of presentations on such topics as metastatic tumors of the spine and adjacent level disc disease. He currently serves as principal coinvestigator in a University of California, Davis, research project on surgical interventions for fixed cervical kyphosis.
