I am a Londoner born and bred and I love living in the greatest city in the world!
I teach piano to over 50 children and adults. I mostly teach classical music but I also spend a lot of time using Sibelius to transcribe easy arrangements of songs for my students. In 2011, my students will be learning to play songs by The Clash, E.L.O., Penguin Cafe Orchestra & Lady Gaga. I have a great job that allows me to meet lots of people in the local community. I'm also my own boss which is the way I like it!
I have a lot of time in the mornings to practice the piano and this is my favourite way to pass the hours. I have recently discovered two Argentinian composers, Ginastera and Piazzolla and am enjoying learning their music. I love folk music and their Latin style of Criollan music is great fun to play. The music has so much passion and energy as well as complex rhythmic patterns that intrigue me. I also like the ferocity of Prokofiev's music. For those quieter moments, I like the music of Messiaen and Purcell.
