For almost 30 years I have toiled as an Engineer- always with a dream to move on to a second career as a full time artist. Yes- I am also an Artist- my right and left brains often wrestle to a stalemate, but then they eventually take turns so that I can create my unique pieces of art.

The convergence came a few years ago when I started restoring old EM (electro-mechanical) pinball machines. My engineering skills allowed me to trouble-shoot and repair these tempermental dinosaurs from my youth- and I soon found myself adding in components and features- literal "bells and whistles"- to supplement these machines. After a few successful restorations, I purchased a machine that was in such poor shape that I decided to strip it of all previous artwork and apply my own design.

My first custom design was an homage to my youth growing up near Pittsburgh, PA- and the annual pilgrimage to Kennywood Amusement Park. Kennywood has a fine collection of roller coasters- my favorite being the mobeus design Racer Coaster. The Racer became my first custom machine- complete with images of my two teenage children in the coaster front and center- with all art "Cartoonized" to simulate the pinball glass designs of the 1970's. I experimented with ways to add basic sound effects and trigger switches while still keeping the original bells and chimes of this vintage machine.

I will never sell this machine- but I was inspired to be more creative and build on this start, and designed and built my second machine to honor an icon of music- Bruce Springsteen. To this 1975 era machine I added a jukebox feature, and an underlit turntable that makes use of an old roulette wheel feaure of the original unit.

By now I had found my calling, and decided to create unique pieces of "mechanical pinball art" for sale. I believe I can create something unique and meaningful to meet anyone's desires, and look forward to consulting with clients to make these dreams a reality.
