PJ Blanchfield

Albany, New York-based attorney P.J. Blanchfield began his career in the early 1990s after earning a degree in law from the New England School of Law. Starting out as an assistant district attorney for Albany County, P.J. Blanchfield later opened a private practice, which he still maintains while serving as a county public defender.

As an assistant district attorney, P.J. Blanchfield worked diligently within his community to teach service organizations and to protect law-abiding citizens. In doing so, he taught a course on criminal law, probable cause, and similar issues to members of the Albany Police Department. Mr. Blanchfield also served as a special county gun prosecutor, a role in which he collaborated with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York on addressing gun violence in Albany.

As a part of giving back to his community, P.J. Blanchfield participated in the school education program Legal Lives, through which he spoke to fifth graders on the importance of choices in avoiding and preventing crime in the future. He has also presented a curriculum to teachers on how to address shoplifting, gang activities, and similar crimes with Albany students.
