Full name: Agustinus Praba Drijarkara, PhD

I work as a metrologist, which means I study and practice the science of measurement, which is concerned with making correct and precise measurement that is recognized internationally. The specific branch of metrology that I practice is the length and dimensional metrology.

From 1995 to 2018 I worked at the Research Centre for Metrology (RCM-LIPI), which was the national metrology institute (NMI) of Indonesia whose responsibility was the realization, maintenance and dissemination of national standards of measurement in the areas of length, mass and related quantities, time and frequency, temperature, electrical quantities, acoustics and vibration, radiometry and photometry, and metrology-in-chemistry. From January 2019, the duty of maintaining the national standards of measurement had been transferred to the National Standardization Agency of Indonesia (BSN), so from that day I became an employee of BSN. I started as Director of National Measurement Standards for Mechanics, Radiation, and Biology in BSN until April 2022.

In April 2022 I started a new position as Director of Laboratory Accreditation.

I have beeninvolved in the Asia-Pacific Metrology Programme (APMP), specifically in the Technical Committee for Length (TCL). APMP is a regional metrology forum for NMIs in the Asia-Pacific region. I served as Vice Chair of TCL from 2011 to 2013.

I also work with the National Accreditation Body of Indonesia (KAN) as technical reviewer (assessor) and as lead assessor for calibration laboratories. I also teach at technical training courses related to metrology, measurement uncertainty and laboratory quality management system based on ISO/IEC 17025:2005.

From August 2014 to March 2018 I took a study leave and became a guest researcher at KRISS, the national metrology institute of the Republic of Korea, while pursuing my PhD in Science of Measurement from the University of Science and Technology (UST) in Daejeon, Korea. I graduated in August 2018.
