I began teaching 5th grade and enjoyed using technology in my classroom to promote my students becoming more independent learners and increase rigor. As a principal I have found many ways for teachers and staff to use technology to collaborate with their peers and to create/share their learning with others. Teachers are using technology to allow students opportunities to learn at their own pace and extend their learning beyond the walls of the school. Our Students are from the digital generation and have truly and "taken off" with innovated instruction that includes technology.
Although technology plays a big role in the classrooms, our innovative approach to learning also includes using the engineering design process to ensure students have the creative and critical thinking skills they will need to be successful in our ever-changing world.
Outside of school, I love to be outside! I love to run, hike, swim and I try to play golf:)
I have presented at various conferences for best practices and educational technology focusing on leading change.
