Rachel Lasek

Teacher in Forestville

Rachel is a Mathematics and French teacher at a rural, public high school in Northern California. She is currently the Mathematics Department Lead, Instructional Technology Coach, CSF Advisor, Safe School Ambassodor Advisor, and a LEC Certified Digital Educator.

Rachel was a Mathematics consultant working with Callahan Consulting and Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium. She was involved in Performance Task development.

Rachel earned two BAs from the University of California, Santa Barbara in Psychology and French. With those two degrees under her belt, she decided to continue exploring the world and joined the exciting company, Club Med. Working in the Caribbean, Rachel continued to exercise her French, teach dance lessons, and enjoy the natural beauty of the islands. Once tiring of island life, Rachel returned to California and worked in the amazing wine business, as an administrative assistant in a wine brokerage firm.

However, the classroom called to Rachel and she listened. Rachel earned three Teaching Credentials in Psychology, French, and her secret love, Mathematics. Most recently, Rachel earned her M.Ed in Instruction and Curriculum from the American College of Education.

Rachel is an avid learner and one who shall never stop trying to improve her craft.
