Born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI, I am a budding web developer/designer with a passion for minimalism and creating efficiently responsive web applications. At my core is an asymmetric soul, comprised of equal parts artist, enigma, lover of all things beautiful, knowledge-seeker, mischief maker, coolly calculating, wisher upon many stars, promoter of inclusion.

I am becoming proficient as a full stack Web Developer, using technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, Sass, JavaScript, Git, MongoDB, Ruby, and Rails. Have also begun working with JS frameworks such as Angular and Node. I have a background as a Software Quality Assurance engineer, however, I am embarking on a new path as a web designer/developer - A Pegasus!

My vision is future-driven. I will be launching a startup shortly and will focus on the creation of cross-platform mobile applications to refine and improve the mobile shopping experience. I love to interact with my industry peers and am always on the lookout for collaborative opportunities.

I have another important goal, and that is to improve the diversity and inclusiveness of the Information Technology industry. I plan on launching a non-profit org designed to engage, mentor, train, and introduce entrepreneurship to our underserved yourth - many of whom have not had the opportunity to explore careers in Information Technology. I see myself extending this endeavor to the Pre-K through elementary school arena. I want to work with education officials to help develop curriculums that challenge and enourage our young children to better develop critical thinking skills and other tools that will enable them to compete in the economies of the future.

Increasing the inclusion of our underserved youth - African-American, Hispanic, and Native American - in various Information Technology fields will well-equip this country with the manpower, vision, spirit, and the imagination to make significant contributions to the betterment of this world. These efforts may not bear fruit immediately, but we can be certain the future will be bountiful.

I am reminded of a quote by the great Spanish philosopher Jose Ortega y Gasset, who once said "Life is a series of collisions with the future; it is not the sum of what we have been, but what we yearn to be."

I yearn to make the future great, not only for our current generation, but for those yet to come.
