Dr Radhika Mittal is a sociologist with a research focus on mediated public perceptions of climate change and related adaptation-mitigation measures. She examines how risk is framed and discussed in mainstream media, at the interface of science, public policy and the public sphere. Her recent work has looked at climate change coverage in Indian print media and climate-friendly food practices in Australian and American newspapers.

Dr Mittal teaches and lectures on Climate Change Communication and Strategic Communication for Public Policy as guest or adjunct faculty. She has authored coursework on Journalism and Sustainable Development for UNESCO's Series on Journalism Education.

She has spoken at different fora such as academic conferences, panel discussions and a public socialgood event. She has a keen interest in examining public perception and fostering a dialogue on effective communication of the crucial issues of our time. She offers independent media research consulting services to enable public and private organisations to empower their strategic communication.

Radhika was awarded an Innovative Universities of the European Union and a Macquarie University Research Excellence scholarship towards her PhD in Sydney, Australia. She was also an Erasmus Mundus scholar, sponsored by the European Commission, at the universities of Aarhus, Amsterdam and Hamburg for a research masters in media and globalisation.
