Rafael Kern

New York City, NY

Rafael (Rafa) Kern is guided by a commitment to create a world where all of life can flourish. That work has taken various forms and allowed him to participate in many exciting projects, designing very different systems. These include: leading conceptual design and implementation of an NSF-sponsored multi-million dollar mobile app; designing integrated virtual/physical curricula for a nascent political party in Brazil and a class for all Columbia undergraduates; and designing and implementing a science career ladder program that employed 54 New Haven public high school students to teach science to museum visitors. Rafa holds a BA cum laude from Yale University (Theater Studies), and is currently a Lemann Fellow at Columbia University Teachers College, where he is a member of the Real World Impact Games Lab.
