NOTE TO RECRUITERS:

I am extremely happy at Simplisafe and have no plans whatsoever of changing my situation.

Having said that, and for the record, I'm motivated by three things: 1. opportunities that provide what I define as a "social good", ones the enhance or otherwise improve people's lives (so hedge funds are right out ;) ), 2. being able to work with clever people in situations where I can both share my experiences and learn from those of others, and 3. interesting, challenging technical problems.

You'll note two things that are conspicuous by their absence from that list: money and industry, two things I rarely consider when evaluating new opportunities.

Finally, for the last ten years or so, my technical focus has been and continues to be on building reliable, high-availability ("tier 1") back-end services. I cannot tell you how many times I've shared that information with a recruiter only to hear: "Ok, I'll put you down as a "full-stack" developer."

I specialize in building extremely reliable back-end infrastructure supported by effective design and high levels of code quality. I am not a "full-stack developer".
