For the last decade, Raj Prabhakar has built a career in licensing, business development and strategic corporate planning for biotechnology companies. He currently serves as Executive Director of Strategic Planning & Business Development at Celsion Corporation, a New Jersey-based biotechnology firm specializing in the development of drugs to treat cancer. At present, Raj Prabhakar assists in the development and commercialization of the company’s lead drug candidate, leading efforts to continue global clinical trials and prepare for global manufacturing.

Raj Prabhakar began his biotechnology career in 2002 working for Osiris Therapeutics, a company in Baltimore, Maryland focused on stem cell therapeutics. He acted as Assistant to the CEO on matters of corporate development, creating and presenting strategic development plans to the CEO and Board of Directors. Mr. Prabhakar next worked for Protiveris, a firm that developed diagnostic tools using nanotechnology. As Director of Corporate Development during the Series B and Series C rounds of funding at Protiveris, he assisted the company in identifying potential sales targets and putting together research and development collaborations.

In addition to his years of professional experience, Raj Prabhakar has a strong educational background. He pursued and completed a double major in mechanical engineering and biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, MA. During his tenure there, he participated in numerous student organizations, including the MIT Parliamentary Debate Team where he served as Treasurer and President. Raj Prabhakar graduated from MIT in 1995. In 1999, he enrolled in Harvard Business School, where he earned a Master of Business Administration in 2001.
