Ranjun started his career in enterprise software sales. He then moved to marketing in 2008. He was the lead social media strategists for the Information Management brand in IBM's Software Group division. He launched and managed new online communities on ibm.com, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, SlideShare and several blogs. He worked to integrate social media with traditional marketing campaigns around product launches and major events like the Information on Demand Conference. He also introduced the online communites to the IBM User Groups (FileNet, DB2, Informix and InfoSphere products). Within the first year these communites grew to be the largest IBM managed communities.
Ranjun worked closely with specific Subject Matter Experts to develop their digital eminece through blogging, Twitter, and SlideShare. Through the use of metrics he was able to increase engagment between key SME's and IBM customers, partners, and industry analysts.
He applied his social media experience on the new Corporate Digital Strategy Team. In this global role, he worked to educate social media strategists world wide through guidance material, "how to" videos, and identifing useful internal and external tools. Ranjun identified new social media technologies and worked directly with solution providers to bring them in house. He worked with over 700 social media strategists across IBM's global marketing operations.
With the launch of the IBM MobileFirst brand, Ranjun took the lead to establish and grow a new community. He took a fledgling Facebook page from 200 fans to over 4000 fans within a 30 day period. He worked with agency partners to launch the "Hero's of Mobile" campaign and develop KPI's for the launch of the new brand. He also worked with over 100 mobile/tablet/device experts to create thought leadership in the mobile enterprise space.
Ranjun was a recognized leader at IBM and had the designation of a "Business and Technical Leader" and was a part of the "Top Talent" management training program.
Today, Ranjun works with the worlds largests technology companies to establish a technology platform with HootSuite. With the ubiquity of social media, social media management has become a growing area for all businesses. Ranjun has emerged as a thought leader and is working to develop a standard set of practices around the use of tools, reporting and business analytics.
