Ravi Tolwani

Working for The Rockefeller University in New York City, Ravi Tolwani fulfills a host of responsibilities as a Research Associate Professor and Associate Vice President. In addition to a comprehensive academic background in medicine and management, he brings to his work years of experience as an administrator and educator. Ravi Tolwani has also earned a number of professional honors over the course of his career, including the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science's Young Investigator Award, National Institutes of Health's Institutional National Research Service Award and Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine's Young Achiever Award. He also holds the title of Diplomate with the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine.

In his position as an Associate Vice President for The Rockefeller University, Ravi Tolwani holds responsibility for leading three research departments, with a combined annual budget of $11 million. In addition to securing a more than $1 million budget surplus by reducing expenditures and increasing revenue, Dr. Tolwani worked with the school's other leaders to develop a set of strategic goals that tracked with its fiscal position. His other accomplishments since assuming the role in 2007 include initiating the building of a $36 million research facility and overseeing a laboratory encompassing 130,000 square feet.

Ravi Tolwani holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and a Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular and Cellular Pathology from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Several years after obtaining these degrees, he studied for a postdoctoral Master of Science in Management at the Stanford School of Business, from which he graduated in 2006.

In his leisure time, Ravi Tolwani enjoys hiking. An avid runner as well, he has competed in the San Francisco Marathon.Ravi is founder of DVM Nexus dedicated to enabling the connected veterinary generation.
