Reagan Barnett, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor in Mobile, Alabama
I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Mobile where I teach genetics, biochemistry, and physiology. Prior to this position I was a postdoctoral fellow at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Clinical Cancer Prevention, studying hereditary colon cancer syndromes such as Lynch Syndrome, FAP, and CMMR-D. I come with a patient perspective as I was diagnosed with colon cancer and Lynch-like Syndrome at 22 years old and now advocate for proper family history assessment and genetic testing. My main scientific interest is in variant classification of oncology variants. I am currently working towards a certificate from Johns Hopkins University in genomics data science. In my free time I enjoy painting, traveling, hiking, kayaking, and writing. I now live in Mobile, Alabama with my husband David and our puppy Colonel Theodore Roosevelt (Teddy).
