Harald Reichebner

Harald Reichebner was born 1948 in Vienna. On completion of his law degree in 1973, he discovered his love of theater and began to study at the Max Reinhardt Acting School in Vienna. For a number of years he worked as a freelance director and producer before being named managing director of the Viennese Volkstheater in 1979. Over the following years he directed twenty-seven plays and won best Director´s Award in 1981 and 1982. Harald Reichebner then moved from Vienna to Berlin where he became managing director of the Freie Volksbühne one of the biggest Stage Theater in Berlin. Following this, he participated in more than seventy film and TV productions. 1968-1974: study of law at the university of Vienna and Cologne. 1974: study of film direction and acting at the Max-Reinhard Seminar in Vienna. 1976-1979 Stage theatre director and producer. 1979-1984 Managing Director of the “Wiener Volkstheater”. During this time he directed 27 stage plays and produced 10 television films. 1982 Directors Awards for the directing of Fassbinder´s “The bitter tears of Petra von Kant” as well as “Volpone” of Stefan Zweig. 1985 - 1986 Managing director of Teletheatre Vienna. 1986 CEO of Weinberger Music Publishing House 1987 - 1992 Managing director of Freie Volksbühne Berlin Some of the Feature film production “Europa und der zweite Apfel”, starring Klaus Maria Brandauer, Matthieu Carriere, Bernhard Minetti.
