Renjie Butalid is an entrepreneur with a passion for social entrepreneurship and social innovation.

Renjie currently leads the global mapping project at Igniter, in collaboration with Ashoka, MaRS and the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation.

Renjie plays a key role at NextDayBetter, a social enterprise based in New York City focused on Philippines-themed entrepreneurship and innovation. Renjie is also a Global Shaper at the Toronto Hub with the World Economic Forum.

A Third-Culture Kid (TCK) currently based in Toronto, Renjie has lived, studied, volunteered and worked across Canada, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Hungary and the Philippines. This includes working with Social Innovation Generation, the Institute for Social & European Studies, the Philippine Centre for Islam & Democracy, and the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders.

Renjie is co-founder of Togethr and was also previously a TEDx organizer with TEDxWaterloo, TEDxYouth@Waterloo, TEDxUW and TEDxAlAin.

Renjie holds a BA Economics from the University of Waterloo and is pursuing an MA International Relations from Corvinus University of Budapest.

In 2012, Renjie was named 40 Under 40 by the Waterloo Region Record.
