Richard has been a very proud and active member of the San Francisco, California temple Emanu-El. Richard Goozh has helped out and participated with numerous instances of community out reach as well as charitable giving events through Temple Emanu-El including the SF Food Bank, Jewish Family and Children’s Services and the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco.

Three years ago he established the Goozh Philanthropic Trust through the Jewish Community Federation (JCF) and Endowment. The mission of the Goozh Philanthropic Trust is to identify and contribute to various healthcare, environmental, arts and other non-profit organizations. Some of the charities that Richard has made contributions to either directly or through the Goozh Philanthropic Trust are the Central City Opera House Association, San Francisco Opera, KQED, the Nature Conservancy, the University of Pennsylvania, Northwestern University, the National Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, On Your Feet Foundation, Grapes of Humanity, the Histio Cure Foundation, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, Marin Agricultural Land Trust, San Francisco Baykeeper, the American Himalayan Foundation, the Simonds Fund and many more.
