I am director of Surgical Critical Care and Co-Director of Adult Critical Care Services at Maimonides Medical Center in New York City, where I am a Professor of Clinical Medicine & Neurology in the Division of Critical Care Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
I am the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Critical Care, and on the editorial board of Critical Care Medicine.
I am a founding member of the team behind the Society of Critical Care Medicine's iCritical Care Podcast, and am a fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine.
My primary academic interest is teaching evidence-based Critical Care Medicine. My research areas have included acute lung injury/ARDS, severe sepsis syndrome/septic shock, surgical critical care, and the care of the critically ill bariatric patient.
I am board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Neurocritical Care.
