My name is RJ. I have the coolest job ever. I work with college students and have a lot of fun. Right now I'm the Assistant Director of Residence Life at Cabrini College in Radnor, PA (a suburb of Philadelphia). I went to West Virginia University and received a Master's in Higher Education Administration. As a student affairs professional, I get to help people grow up when they need help the most. Sometimes this works well and sometimes it's a real challenge.

As an undergrad I studied English and Philosophy, and I definitiely believe the liberal arts can be transformative to how we think about ourselves and the world. Pardon the pretense of, but Goethe (loosely) said that he who does not draw upon three thousand years is living hand to mouth. Soaking up some high culture is nice, but it's getting people to really think which is a big priority for me. Thinking makes life better.

My vision for higher education is to create a system which meaningfully engages students to both learn the skills and fuel the desire they need to create and change their world for the better. I know this is possible because I've worked with caring and committed people, and I've seen how a skilled and passionate team can accomplish anything.
