I am an Evolutionary Biologist, interested in the relationships between genes, organisms, and ecosystems. I tend to address biological questions using large-scale data-extensive approaches and computational tools.

I like to think about the molecular and evolutionary mechanisms nature uses to produce innovation. One interesting aspect is how does innovation change when the environment or the genome architectures change.

Recently, I joined the Department of Chemistry and Biology at Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia. There, my group will be undertaking large-scale surveys of the local and regional biodiversity, looking for interesting species in the Colombian Caribbean to ask fun questions in molecular innovation and adaptation.
