Back my campaign

Editor, writer, photojournalist, and co-creator of thebahamasweekly.com, Robbin is a successful entrepreneur and pioneer in online news and marketing. A former Bahamas media personality and community builder, she is known for her networking, mentoring, and social media skills. She has a background in information management, communications, and film.

Her connection to the North American east coast and the Caribbean comes from her 13-year residence in Grand Bahama Island where she was very involved in the community before her home-based hobby e-newsletter mushroomed into a leading news portal. She is the recipient of the Visionary Business Leader and Entrepreneurs Award (Bahamas).

In 2011, Robbin moved to the naturally-beautiful west coast city of Coquitlam in B.C., Canada. She has been nominated for an environmental achievement award and was acknowledged for her volunteer work with the Hoy-Scott Watershed Society, a group that assists in wild salmon sustainability. In 2020 she was named a Community Champion by the MP for Coquitlam-Port Coquitlam. Robbin now works in communications with the City of Coquitlam.

A Metis Canadian born in The Pas, Manitoba. My ancestry connects to the Red River Settlement. The Metis Nation are Indigenous people who are descendants of both First Nations and Europeans. She grew up in Alberta, graduating from Sturgeon Composite High School. She worked in several departments of the Alberta government before moving to Vancouver, B.C. It was there that she studied filmmaking and acting, while working at Price Waterhouse. After nine years of marriage, her family moved to Grand Bahama Island.

Robbin has four adult children and is passionate about story-telling, family, community-building, networking, preserving culture, and the environment.

In her spare time, when she's not hiking, playing soccer, pickleball, dragon boating or training in javelin, shot put and discus with Ultra Throw, she likes to explore her community, and share photos and videos of what she sees and express how she feels.
