Rob Briggs

An attorney with over 40 years of experience, Rob Briggs currently serves as chairman emeritus and partner at Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs, a full-service law firm with offices in Akron, Canton, and Cleveland in Ohio. Focusing on business law, trusts and estates, and nonprofit and foundation law, Rob Briggs has served clients at the firm since the early 1970s. He worked his way through the ranks, eventually achieving the post of President and CEO from 1990 to 2000 and Chairman of the Board from 2000 to 2004. He has served as Chairman Emeritus and Partner since that time.

In addition to his legal endeavors, Mr. Briggs performs as a board member for several professional and civic organizations. In the commercial sector, he participates as a member of the board of directors for both Buckeye Oil Producing Company and the financial services company FirstMerit Corporation.

Mr. Briggs’ nonprofit and philanthropic involvement includes , until last September, serving as a trustee for OneCommunity, an organization that helps provide broadband service to schools and hospitals throughout Ohio. He also is a trustee and chair of Invent Now, Inc., an organization that encourages the spirit of invention through camps and other educational opportunities.

To stay connected with local community leaders, Rob Briggs maintains memberships with several area business organizations and country clubs. These include the 50 Club, The Union Club, and the Catawba Island Club.
