Bob Burns
recycling scrap metals, Rehabbing Distressed Properties, and Teaching in Miami, Florida
I grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Go Eagles!) and graduated with a BS in Secondary Education from East Stroudsburg University, 1978.
After receiving my BS degree, I took a job in San Juan Puerto Rico as a teacher and football coach. During that time in PR, I started investing in various hard assets and continued when I moved to South Florida.
My experience includes buying pre-foreclosed properties, tax lien purchases, buying and selling discounted paper, rehabbing various sized properties from single-family homes to multi-unit buildings, education, mentoring and consulting.
While working in Puerto Rico, I took a year off and started studying for my Master Degree in Computer Programming at Florida Institute of Technology FIT.
Living and interacting with Puerto Rico’s Latin community and the rest of the Caribbean was a lifetime experience.
I moved to South Florida from Puerto Rico in 1988 to take a job with Dow Jones. While working, I had the opportunity to further travel the Caribbean and Latin America selling DJ's Financial Sevices, news wires, technical and fundamental analysis and live pricing from various global markets.
Currently I live in Miami, Florida with my wife Alejandra and my 20 year old son Bobby. We enjoy vacationing at the Bahama Beach Club, Ft. Myers Beach and Stone Harbor, New Jersey. I am very involved with his son’s activities by coaching football and basketball teams for various community organizations. Bobby and myself are practicing Episcopalians and attend Trinity Cathedral in Miami, Florida.
