An MPhil (by research) graduate, Chartered Chemist and Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MPhil CChem MRSC), I have extensive experience in R & D: organic synthesis, analysis and novel analytical methods development; troubleshooting, consultancy, and teaching and training in industry and in academe. I was later a Visiting Researcher (Department of Chemistry, University of Liverpool) and the 'Physical Methods' chapter author for 9 of the RSC's annual Specialist Periodical Reports: 'Organophosphorus Chemistry' but have officially retired from paid work as from January 2015. However, I still write articles and reviews, comment on Science matters, communicate, and share relevant updates in Chemistry, Science and Technology. Also since 2012 I set up and still manage the Wrenbury Village Facebook page. I’m now studying part time for a PhD on 20th century education in the British chemical industry My latest MyRSC blog on mobile apps is here
