Robin Lees

At the age of 12, I picked up my moms stella 4 string, which was hiding in the corner of our living room. Not knowing much about a guitar, I decided to open up the dusty case, and take it out to play....it only had 3 strings!! No matter...let's see what it sounds like..I loved to sing, so let's see what I can do when I find some poem or words to go with this little tune I'm now working on..."Voila!"

I was in 4H at the time, and they were having a talent show, so I decided to go out and do my best...I WON!! On a 3 stinged Stella!! Later for my 13th birthday, my parents got me a 6 string and some lessons...this is where my love for songwriting and playing began.

As a singer, I was encouraged in church, and later in High School, then College where I studied Voice Performance. I could sing operetically, but it just wasn't in me or my personality. I recieved many acolades throughout this time, but clearly still writing songs...a folkster at heart. I found many influences, Heart, Billy Joel, Annie Lenox and even listening to my parents records of Grace Slick.

Having left College, I performed in Theater, did Jingles, and had opportunities to bring songs before the President of RCA records which became Sony, and speak to the President of Epic...all liked my songs, but didn't have a place for me....I had message music that sounded different. They were right! I also needed some maturity as well...in 1989 I gave my life to the Lord, and it changed my heart, the way I lived and the way I wrote...

I began to write songs from the places of my life and heart...and that's where it ls today. I love to go all over the world and share this message of hope and love, and in peoples lives....Yes!! All over the world!!
