Throughout more than 20 years as an athletic professional and basketball coach, Robin Potera-Haskins has maintained a strong commitment to community-based activities and charitable work. In her roles as a Physical Education Instructor and Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Wilmer-Hutchins High School, Robin Potera-Haskins participated as a member of the Division I Team Coaches Poll Committee at USA Today and additionally served as Director of the Larry Johnson Basketball Camps from 1991 to 1996, where she provided guidance to underprivileged children in Dallas, Texas, and Charlotte, North Carolina. Robin Potera-Haskins also directed the Signature Athletic Club Basketball Camps and coached children at the Dallas Mavericks Hoop Camps in 1993, 1994, and 1995. Featured in several news media outlets for her coaching performance, Robin Potera-Haskins has contributed her expertise on effective recruitment methods and strategies for winning to such organizations as the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. A graduate of Springfield, Missouri-based Evangel University, Robin Potera-Haskins went on to Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, where she earned a Master’s degree in Physical Education in 1985. Following graduation, Robin Potera-Haskins coached women’s basketball and taught physical education at Nimitz High School in Irving, Texas, for three years. Robin Potera-Haskins next joined Wilmer-Hutchins High School, and from 1988 to 1994, she built on her solid track record as a Coach and Physical Education Teacher. Since 1994, Robin Potera-Haskins has devoted her professional efforts to the creation of successful collegiate women’s basketball programs in multiple divisions of the NCAA, NAIA, and NCCAA. After five years at Austin College, Robin Potera-Haskins coached at Texas Wesleyan University, Montana State University, Winthrop University, Louisiana College, Palm Beach Atlantic University, and Linfield College, where she continues to serve as Head Women’s Basketball Coach to this day. As a coach, Robin Potera-Haskins has claimed over 300 victories and brought home a total of 8 conference championships to her various college programs.
