Ron Goldin

I am a product designer, creative director, artist, technologist and entrepreneur with over a dozen years of conceiving, designing, planning and building digital products and experiences.

I am the founding principal and creative director of Studio Akko, a boutique user experience, design and strategy consultancy in New York City. Over the years I've designed for an evolving landscape across web, devices, new product categories and convergent services as well as brand strategy.

I'm also the founder of Artifacts, an ever-evolving salon of 100+ attendees that aims to disrupt industry silos in the arts, design and technology in the name of cross-disciplinary collaboration. This quarterly event series features thought leaders from corporate to startup, artist to academia in off-the-beaten-track venues in and around NYC.

I'm frequently engaged with the design community and have spoken at AIGA, IxDA, and SXSW. I’ve also guest lectured at NYC's School of Visual Arts. I mentor designers and multidisciplinary teams on entrepreneurship, visual design and agile and lean user experience process.

I am currently working on a research endeavor called Design & the Mobile Startup to help young companies grow up quickly and large companies think like hungry startups by interviewing Foursquare, Instagram, Etsy, and more, and pulling from my own consulting experiences for both.

I invest time in self-starting products as well as startups I believe in, and I'm on the Board of Advisors for a number of startup ventures. I also have one or two ideas of my own brewing.
