Ross MacKinnon

Ross has been programming computers since 1982. That first computer was a Tandy TRS-80 Model III. Since then, he moved on to various Commodore and CP/M based machines, and DOS-based PCs starting in 1986. His professional career in computers started in 1988.

He moved to California from Canada in 1996, making it to Silicon Valley in 1999. He was the first engineer hired at Friendster in 2003, where he faced rapid growth and many unique challenges over a 6-year stint.

He currently lives in San Francisco with his wife and children, and is building a new company named En Route!, centered around its namesake mobile app.
