I'm a Visual Anthropology student, studying at the University of Manchester. Visual anthropology appeals as it enables me to explore creative outcomes to the social research that I undertake, and allows me to represent the research in the most applicable way.

I'm currently undertaking fieldwork for my Masters dissertation, focusing on the 'maker' community in India that surrounds Arduino technology (electronic micro-controllers). I'm fascinated by the innovation and creativity shown by members of this community, but more than anything I'm interested in how the network is developing and what it is about Arduino and the open source ethos that draws people to it.

The research will have a visual outcome, be that a film or a photography project, and will be exhibited in Manchester at the culmination of my degree.

Should anyone wish to collaborate on this research, you are welcome to get in touch.
