I'm the Social Media Director for the B.C. Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, working to increase the engagement and online presence of TranBC and DriveBC, and I serve as a communications consultant through my company Communications Kitchen.
My love for engaging with people and PR began in promotions, public relations and branding as a radio announcer and producer, where I built relationships with listeners and increased brand awareness for the station and advertisers.
Since then, I contract consulted as a social media and public relations strategist for The Weather Network and served as the communications manager and first social media strategist for the B.C. Government Caucus. I currently consult for organizations and small business and have had the pleasure to be invited to speak on social media, branding and communications at various events.
In my "spare time", I write and administrator my blog The Upsell, a look at customer service - the good, the bad, the barely noticeable; guest blog for Sprout Social: Insights, TEDxJuanDeFuca and LifeHack.org; and co-host a weekly YouTube show on engagement called Getting Engaged – Online, in Life and at Work.
