I have been a Registered Nurse for 18 years. Currently I am an instructor in a BSN program at a private university. I teach three courses: Pharmacology, Foundations of Professional Nursing, and Health & Wellness & Cultural Diversity. I am currently enrolled in a Doctoral program in Educational Leadership at The University of Hartford and plan on graduating in 2015. I also received my MSN at The University of Hartford in 2008. During that time I had the opportunity to study abroad in London England doing special course work at The Florence Nightingale school of Nursing, and visiting various hospitals to discuss and learn their socialized healthcare system. I earned my BSBM from Albertus Magnus College in 2001 and my ASN from Saint Vincent’s College of nursing in 1995. My clinical expertise is in General Medicine and CCU. In 2000 I presented a poster at The Society of Vascular Nursing’s National Symposium in Philadelphia on PICC line placement. In 1998-1999 I traveled to northern and southern California for eight months working in CCU at various hospitals. In 2002 I was chosen by my peers to receive the "Nightingale Award" for excellence in nursing. In 2008 I was chosen to be inducted into Sigma Theta Tau (Nursing's only Honor Society) for academic excellence. I am also a member of the ANA, and the NLN. I volunteer for the Ct Food Bank often and I enjoy traveling with my husband. We live at the beach with our two dogs.
