Ryan Christopher Lee

New York, New York, United States

Finding his initial aptitude for the arts through drawing galloping horses with crayons, Ryan continues to pursue opportunities and professions that not only allow him to create but express thought provoking ideas. Taking interest in filmmaking and videography at the bright and early age of 9 years old, he spent much of his early adolescence experimenting his visual storytelling ability with a humble Mini-DV camera and an underwhelming Hewlett-Packard in his basement. By age 13, his focus had shifted from film to music, dedicating hours on end to a scratched up Baby Taylor acoustic guitar.

Ryan attended high school at Tacoma School of the Arts, where he took up songwriting and studied Musical Composition as well as Audio Recording and Sound Engineering. By Junior year, his interest for film and cinematography reemerged with great passion, by which he enrolled in several filmmaking and screenplay writing courses alongside his audio/musical curriculum. Before graduating in 2014, Ryan independently created a documentary on Seattle street musicians and buskers, obtained two full-time internships as a videographer, and several film and motion graphics based freelance jobs around the Seattle-Tacoma area.

After spending the following year on personal music endeavors and social injustice documentary work in Nepal, Ryan continues his studies at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts pursuing a Bachelor's in Undergraduate Film & TV Production. Alongside, he is still writing music and seizing every opportunity for creative expression and advocating social unity.
