Ryan Kilburn

Hello, I'm Ryan and I'm a full-time freelance author.

I write generally about outdoor sports, activities and my lifestyle in the mountains.

I grew up close to Fort William in Scotland where my family owned a modest sheep farm, in the shadow of Ben Nevis. For as long as I can recall "the great outdoors" has actually been a part of my life and when I'm not writing I love nothing more than trekking, riding my bike, or when the seasons and location allow - sliding down the hill on my board or skis.

My freelance writing has and still does enable my partner and I to travel extensively and over the last 2 or 3 years, we've spent most of our time at various locations in the Alps and the Pyrenees . Next year we're preparing for a journey to the States for a coast to coast road trip to help with the research of a book I want to write.

Surprising enough, the book is going to about the Great Outdoors ...

A few of you may have even seen some of my work as I've had my writings posted on numerous "outdoorsy" websites and I'm also a frequent contributor to a specialist snow sport website and an MTB publication .
