I am a poet and nonfiction writer from Southampton, England currently studying for a BA in Creative Writing at the University of Winchester.

I initially spent many years confining my writing to the page, during which time I was named one of the Foyles Young Poets of 2011. Recently I became friends with a graphic designer, it was this friend that opened my mind to all the different ways that the written word could be used and displayed.

Suddenly I found new methods of make my writing come to life – off of the page. Since then I have been extremely interested in the way that words can create a visual experience for their readers and so over the last few years I have tried to explore this in my own work.

My first large-scale exploration of this new medium came in my second year of university. I created an autobiographical exhibition, working with printed fabrics and sewn words.

My current work 'I am a woman, and then, however I just am' is an extension of this concept, creating autobiographical poetry for display. In this project I am working solely with fabrics and embroidery to create an exhibition that will challenge the way many people look at poetry and the written word.

Keep up to date here on my blog for project news and exhibition locations and dates.
