Samantha Hilsenrod

Samantha Hilsenrod currently attends Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she is working toward her Bachelor of the Arts in Communications and Spanish. Samantha Hilsenrod currently holds a 3.7 GPA and plans to graduate from Tulane in May of 2012. She is completely funding her tuition and living expenses with a combination of work and merit-based scholarships. Samantha Hilsenrod is currently maintaining two jobs while meeting the academic challenges of Tulane University; she works at the Coyote Ugly Saloon and the Bourbon Cowboy. At Tulane University, Samantha Hilsenrod is involved in a number of extracurricular and charitable activities. In 2009, Samantha Hilsenrod became a founding member of the newest sorority on campus, the Tulane chapter of Phi Mu. Phi Mu was founded in Macon, Georgia in 1852, and is one of the oldest sororities in America. She is a chairperson on the Fraternity Relations Committee, and maintains ties to other sororities and fraternities on the Tulane campus. Since January of 2009, Samantha Hilsenrod has donated considerable free time to the Gulf Restoration Network. Founded in 1994, the organization is dedicated to preserving and protecting the natural resources of the Gulf of Mexico. Samantha Hilsenrod has volunteered for the Network in various capacities: working in educational and public relations initiatives, assisting in promotional events, and participating in email campaigns. Samantha Hilsenrod is also a member of Chabad at Tulane, an international Jewish movement that promotes Jewish awareness across the globe. In 2009, Samantha Hilsenrod traveled to Israel as part of the Chabad Mayanot Birthright Israel Program. Samantha Hilsenrod has held various positions in hospitality, communications, and public relations since 2005. Her hobbies include reading, dance, and the New Orleans music scene.
