Established by Rebecca and Arthur Samberg in 1995, the Samberg Family Foundation has three key areas of interest: education, health, and Jewish giving. According to Jewish tradition, all people have a duty to help repair the world. In keeping with this tradition, the Samberg Family Foundation provides assistance to organizations that seek to foster healthy and productive living for children. The Samberg Family Foundation seeks to provide assistance to organizations that are willing to accept this responsibility with humility.

Although organizations throughout the United States are eligible for funding through the Samberg Family Foundation, preference is given to organizations within the New York City metropolitan area. The foundation does not accept unsolicited proposals, as its representatives work closely with organizations in the targeted areas to solicit grant applications that are best aligned with their goals.

As change does not come easily, the majority of the grants provide multiyear funding to help recipients reach the long-term goals of their organization. With this approach, the foundation hopes to elicit meaningful progress toward its ultimate goal of making sure all children are able to receive the support and opportunities they need to reach their potential as adults.
