Samuel Mikel Bowles

As a Senior Design & Technology leader, I have more than 15 years of leadership experience delivering quality software for clients ranging from startups to the world's largest enterprises. I have expertise in UX, software engineering, product management, people management and organizational development.

Most recently, as the Location Lead of Slalom Build in Northern California, I established and managed high-functioning teams to build software that powers billions of queries and transactions around the world each day. I also managed key client accounts for some of the largest tech companies in Silicon Valley, and helped extend our team's reach across four offices in the region. I managed our unit's budget, operations, recruiting, and business planning with $10M+ in revenue responsibility. But one of the things I'm must proud of is my work leading a cross-functional team to design and implement a new career development framework for 1000+ designers, engineers, and product managers within our organization with a particular focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion through transparency and clear growth paths.

I'm passionate about improving the world through software and solving intricate problems that require a careful balance of technical knowledge, customer empathy, business acumen, and clear stakeholder communication. I am fluent in Lean Manufacturing and Agile methodologies and have applied them to accelerate the design, development and delivery of quality products in a range contexts including military, healthcare, logistics, high technology and more.
