Samuel James Dengel is a United States Merchant Marine from Chalfont, Pennsylvania.
Samuel James Dengel has dedicated his lifetime to serve and provide for his country and local community. Starting out as an Eagle Scout, Dengel was honored as a member of the Order of the Arrow and worked on special projects, developing a database for U.S. veterans. Throughout his years as a hardworking student in high school and college, Samuel James Dengel spent time as a volunteer firefighter for two of his local towns. Dengel is a certified NAUI open water advanced Scuba Diver and certified EMT in the state of New York. Samuel James Dengel teaches at SUNY Maritime College and Massachusetts Maritime Academy during the summer months. He is also a volunteer for Senator Menendez’s service academy interview team.
Attending the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY, Samuel Dengel stood as Vice Chairman of the Regimental Honor Board and was Co-Captain of the pistol team. He graduated from USSMA with a U.S. Coast Guard 3rd Assistant Engineers License, commission as an Ensign in the Navy Reserve, as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Engineering.
Samuel James Dengel has been a member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers since 2010. He is a current applicant to the Marine Engineers’ Beneficial Association.
