After a Forerunner weapon is misused by the Covenant, the local wildlife of Planet HEDG - 071 rapidly evolved into sentient beings. The Whalefish of the planet built a mighty empire. In order to protect their rule, they formed the Whalefish Samurai Guard. When war broke out between the Whalefish and the Flood all but one of the Samurai Guard were killed. Samurai Fronk left his homeworld and traveled to Earth where he swore a duty to protect the planet should the Flood decide to invade.
