Student, Astronomy Research Assistant, and Programmer in New York, NY

Sara is an international student from Italy studying physics, astronomy and dance at Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College. She is an assistant researcher in the Astrophysics department at the American Museum of Natural History, as part of the Brown Dwarfs New York City (BDNYC) research group which investigates the properties of low-mass stars.

In the summer of 2015, she received an Avon-Tukman fellowship and a Mellon Foundation grant to direct, produce and curate a multi-disciplinary performance around the topic of space flight. As an aspiring inter-disciplinary curator, she is currently collaborating with internationally known artists such as Gilles Jobin and Tom Shannon. She seeks to bring artists at the forefront of scientific research, cross-pollinating the worlds of art and science through interactive experiences and engaging conversations.
